The Illusion of a Quiet Night is an observational documentary that immerses the viewer in a single night of war in Ukraine — a time when outward silence conceals deep anxiety, exhaustion, and fear. Filmed simultaneously across all regions of the country — from the forests of the north to the steppes of the south, from devastated villages to cities that continue to endure — the film captures the transformation of the night: from the nearly forgotten hours of rest and calm to a period of unending anticipation of danger.
